On 2nd and 3th of April, training sessions were held in Quito on the Science and Technology Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission. The initiative was promoted by the National Secretariat for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (SENESCyT) with the support of the ALCUE NET Project, led by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation (MINCyT) of Argentina and with the support of Cooperation Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) in Uruguay as a reference for the LAC NCP Network.
The objective is to strengthen the national capacities of science and technology agencies, researchers and companies to increase Ecuador's participation in the Horizon 2020 Program.
The Horizon 2020 Program was presented, the mechanisms for participation, the tools for the search of meetings and partners, as well as different aspects that contribute to the motivation and appropriation of the Program by the participants. The mechanisms for access and participation conditions for the Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions (MSCA) were also presented. Presentations were given by Lic. Almudena Carrero, from the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology and Lic. Aïda Díaz, technician in Projects of the Agency of Management of Universities and Research in Barcelona.
In addition to the trainings, a working session was also held with National Contact Points to publicize their tasks within the European Union, providing support in calls for proposals.
